The format of the event was essentially the same and like last year and we present an electrifying evening packed with variety entertainment along with a delicious spread of multiple SOUTH cuisines. This time GIMA joined hands with almost all regional associations in Ghana to give you different flavours of India, especially KERALA the GODS OWN COUNTRY. We aim to help our youngsters to showcase their talents under the brand RASGULLA. This was staged 21st April 2018 at Aviation Social center at Accra, Ghana. | GIMA Ponnonam 2016 25 Sep 2016 at Aviation Social Centre Accra Our event this time essentially captured the spirit of Onam festival by illustratively narrating a scene where Mahabali enters a Family in the middle of Onam Celebration and participate in it. We presented a series of events like making intricately designed flower mats called Pookaalam to welcome King Mahabali, Thiruvadhira Dance by ladies, Kummatti kali and Pulikali by Children and finally Mahabali delivered a speech to his people and returned. The celebration continued with different traditional games (Onakkalikal) for children and ladies followed by the most impressive part of Onam celebration the grand feast called 'Onasadya'. The best was saved for the last with our children and ladies enthusiastically participating in Vadamvali (Tug of War), predominantly played by Men followed by prize distribution and dispersal. | AGM MEETING Ghana Indian-Malayalee Association's (GIMA) first Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held in Charleston Hotel, Tesano, Accra on 22nd June 2014. The meeting was well attended. AGM approved the Executive Committee's proposal to celebrate this year's Onam Festival on 21st September 2014, and authorised the Executive Committee to draw up proposals in this regard. |

Sudden Demise of Mr BIJU Eledath
We regret to inform all our community members, the sudden death of Mr. Biju Eledath from Thrissur district, Kerala, who was working with Sethi brothers on May 21st 2014. The cause of death was a massive heart attack. His body has been taken to Kerala on 28-5-14. He was from a poor family and only son to his sick and old parents, we raised a voluntary contribution to his OLD parents.
